This app is designed for teaching missionaries and less for casual language learners, but I've still been enjoying it. There are never any ads or microtransactions, and the whole interface feels a lot more inviting and inclusive than Duolingo, which I gave up on a long time ago. Still familiarizing myself with the UI; I like how it offers a little tour of the app so you can understand how everything works. 4.5 stars, round up to 5.

edited: I learned Cantonese on my mission 30 years ago, I use this app to refresh my skills. It was going pretty good but then there was a glitch with the AI and EVERYTHING was pronounced wrong. Working with the app technicians, they finally got it fixed and made sure that it was no longer causing problems on my end. It took a while to get a response to my feedback but when I did they were very attentive. Changing my one star to four because it's still new and there are still some bugs.

this app has had a lot of great developments in recent years. it can be rather difficult to figure out certain features so it could stand to be made more intuitive, and there are a few mistranslations here and there, but for the most part it's an incredibly useful and organized language learning tool for perspective missionaries, full-time missionaries, and even returned missionaries.
